A clock that tells a story in addition to the time! This piece is a collaborative work between Building Character and Endangered Alphabets Project carving artist Tim Brookes. Each piece Tim creates is unique and utilizes characters or phrases from either unknown or long forgotten languages. This clock features the symbol Kwatakye Atiko which is said to have been based upon the hairstyle of a particularly brave Ashanti warrior and is one of the symbols of the Adinkra of Ghana. It stands for “courage.”
Solid cherry measuring 11-5/8 inches in diameter with description on the back. Finished with numerous coats of polyurethane. As always, this piece is artfully crafted in Vermont.
